SEEKING OPEN SOURCE DEVELOPER FLUENT IN PHP/DRUPAL/MYSQL TO START IMMEDIATELY
Position: US-based company, "TVG," seeks to hire open source/web 2.0 expert for development work on a community-based "green" eco-website. Technical development and programming required (no real graphics required; we are hiring a separate designer).
Timeframe: TO BEGIN ASAP. Preferably full-time up to 350 hours of work. Will consider part-time, but would need work complete June/July if possible. *Possible opportunity for additional ongoing work.
Skill Requirements: The selected MySQL, Drupal, PHP developer will be responsible for fulfilling technical requirements, which will be provided in detail once final candidate/s are identified. An overview of the technical requirements is to use as much readily available open source technology (drupal platform) to develop:
- blog-based publishing system that can be managed ongoing by TVG editors and project managers going forward.
- ability to create basic & premium user accounts (includes authentication for various site permissions)
- ability to pull in/manipulate data from 3rd party feeds
- activation of "ratings & reviews" plugin
- activation of proximity search/mapping features (via existing plugins)
- activation of community calendar plugin
- enable online advertising (serving ads, tracking ads)
- enable e-mail communications module (creation/management of opt-in/opt-out e-mail lists, e-mail preferences tied to user accounts, possibly integrate newsletter feed from 3rd party)
Education: Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
Work Experience/Qualifications: At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
